CNC Technologies can deploy any level of solution from implementing a real-time microwave downlink capability to building out a nationwide counterterrorism network encompassing aircraft, ground-based receive sites, imaging platforms and encrypted communications systems for sovereign state clients.  The CNC Technologies team also has extensive experience supporting Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) projects funded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

CNC Technologies’ deep relationships with all major equipment vendors, aircraft OEMs, as well as with completion and integration facilities worldwide , allows the company to develop and deliver customized solutions that best match each client’s specific mission profiles.  This includes expertise in developing long range, HD video and data transmission networks; experience building encrypted mobile communications tools to share real-time surveillance and data streams; and a strong background in creating hardened systems capable of fulltime operation in challenging environments.

Alex Giuffrida

Alex Giuffrida is a founding partner of CNC Technologies with responsibility for the company’s worldwide sales efforts across government, law enforcement and military channels.  

Alex has played a central role in advancing the capabilities of the aerial surveillance and downlink market for more than a decade.  In 2004, he led the introduction of the industry’s first comprehensive real-time, HD aerial surveillance solution for government and commercial customers.  

Prior to CNC Technologies, Alex served simultaneously as executive vice president of Helinet Technologies and President of Shotover Camera Systems (a designer and manufacturer of high performance camera systems and UAVs for the broadcast, motion picture and industrial survey markets).

At Helinet, Alex led the company’s efforts in adapting its expertise in motion picture production and television news helicopter imaging to the aerial surveillance market.  He played an instrumental role in developing U.S. and international sales strategies to bring Helinet’s turnkey solutions to the law enforcement, government and military markets.  During his tenure with Helinet, Alex successfully led the development and growth of the Cineflex Camera Systems brand that was later sold to Axsys Technologies.

Prior to joining Helinet, Alex worked in finance as a vice president for Prudential Securities.  His responsibilities included managing $100 million of clients' assets in retail and retirement accounts and well as pension and 401k plans.  Earlier, he was a vice president of investments at Morgan Stanley, in charge of overseeing $85 million of client's assets.

Ron Magocsi is a founding partner of CNC Technologies and leads all aspects of the company’s technical operations, including the design and implementation of comprehensive intelligence solutions for law enforcement, government and military clients.

Ron has extensive experience creating robust surveillance and counter-intelligence systems for international, U.S. national, and local law enforcement authorities with particular expertise in airborne video and microwave downlink technology.  This has included deploying solutions for numerous Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) projects funded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. 

Before co-founding CNC Technologies, Ron was chief technology officer for Helinet Technologies.  He joined Helinet in August of 2004 as director of engineering and played a major role in the development of cutting edge transmission solutions for both the broadcast and law enforcement communities.  Key accomplishments include designing New York City’s most advanced HD news helicopter and providing live, HD coverage of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Prior to joining Helinet, Ron worked at Fox Television Stations, Inc. (WNYW/WWOR) in NYC for 14 years. He began as a field engineer and photographer, providing live microwave and satellite transmissions in and around the New York Tri-State area. He then moved into engineering management where he became responsible for all news-engineering operations of the station, including the re-building of the transmission infrastructure lost during 9/11. While still at Fox, Ron was first introduced to aerial Electronic News Gathering (ENG) by negotiating and managing the SkyFox helicopter lease provided by Helinet Aviation.

Ron holds an advanced degree in airborne electronics from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas and possesses years of experience managing and executing programs of extensive size, scope, and complexity.

Eric was a Police Officer for 30 years with the Ontario (Ca) Police Department.  He served in numerous assignments throughout his career, including; Patrol, Investigations, K-9 (Patrol, Narcotics & SWAT) and finally Air Support.  During his time in the Air Support Unit, Eric went from Tactical Flight Officer to Pilot, and was eventually promoted Sergeant and served as the Unit Commander for the last 6 years of his Law Enforcement career.

During his Assignment as Air Support Unit Commander Eric was responsible for developing and managing the Inland Regional Downlink Program, the largest geographical multi-agency interoperable downlink system in the United States. 

Eric’s interest in Technology and Aviation made for a natural transition to the CNC team.  Eric takes the commitment to put the right tools in the hands of our Law Enforcement, first responders and military very seriously.  He understands that everyday this group of heroes are being asked to “do more with less.”  Eric and the rest of the CNC Technologies team are dedicated to supporting our customers, giving them the ability to protect and serve, without compromise.

Operations Manager

Babette brings a unique combination of aerial camera systems sales experience, account management background and financial industry acumen to her role as operations manager for CNC Technologies.

Prior to joining the CNC team, Babette served as vice president, sales, for Shotover Camera Systems and played a major role in increasing market share for the company in the international marketplace. She moved to Shotover from camera systems company, Cineflex, where she established sales records as the international channel manager for U.S broadcast and film sales for Cineflex. Earlier she worked at Bank of America as a senior personal banker.

Keith Haney

Director of Law Enforcement Sales

Keith served 26 years with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and is a recognized leader in the law enforcement aviation field.  He was a state trooper and patrol supervisor for 12 years and assigned to the Aviation Section for 14 years, serving as a helicopter and fixed-wing pilot as well as supervisor holding the rank of Sergeant, Lieutenant and Staff Lieutenant.  He retired as Captain, Aviation Section Commander, in 2001. 

After retirement from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Keith held several key management positions in law enforcement sales for Axsys Technologies and Airbus Helicopters (Formerly American Eurocopter, LLC). Prior to joining CNC, he held the position of director of business development for Helinet Technologies.

Keith possesses over 7,000 hours of flight time in both fixed and rotary wing aircraft. His aircraft and law enforcement experience provde him with an unparalleled understanding of the needs and missions of the law enforcement community. 

James W. Hyman

Vice President, Operations

James serves as vice president, operations for CNC Technologies handling client contracts, logistics and mission deliverables. 

Previously, James was director of operations for Helinet Technologies where he managed and serviced all ongoing law enforcement contracts.  Earlier he served as Director of Operations at Helinet where he was directly responsible for managing aircraft contracts for more than 25 news outlets that contracted with Helinet for their electronic news gathering (ENG) operations.  In this role, he managed all logistical aspects of each contract including aircraft maintenance services, air crews, fueling, hangar space, offices and delivery of all mission equipment.

James has also served as senior operations manager for Integrated Microwave Technologies LLC where he managed sales and technology issues for customers including the Houston Police department and a number of airborne broadcast and ENG operators.

Mr. Hyman received a degree in Communications with a concentration in Television Production from the University of Delaware. He has spent over 15 years in the video and microwave downlink technology field.

Mark Garcia

Mark brings more than a decade of experience developing advanced wireless communications systems to his role as principal engineer at CNC Technologies.  

Prior to CNC, Mark served as program manager at communications equipment manufacturer Janteq where he led integration of the company’s products across major broadcast and government clients.  Earlier he was director, West Coast operations at global technology and software company, Vislink, with responsibility for managing the company’s technical and sales teams in the Western U.S.  Before Vislink, Mark held engineering positions at Troll Systems and Ascent Media.

Mark has expertise across a broad range of communications technologies including microwave downlinks, video/audio compression and transport, IP and data networks, embedded systems, microcontrollers and RF systems.  His technical background is matched by strong project management experience leading deployment of large scale communications solutions for broadcast and public safety clients.

Ed Van Winkle

Ed Van Winkle served for 20 years with the Gainesville Police Department (GPD) in Gainesville, Florida, and retired as a Captain in 2008.

While at GPD, Ed performed a wide variety of operational assignments, including aviation, patrol, detectives, narcotics and SWAT. During his career, Ed served as the department’s Narcotics Unit Commander and SWAT Commander. He was also Unit Commander of the Alachua County Sheriff's Office/Gainesville Police Department Joint Aviation Unit.

Ed has extensive experience in Special Operations and the application of aviation assets to support specific agency goals and objectives.

After retiring from GPD, Ed was the Law Enforcement Sales Manager at Airbus Helicopters. Inc. (formerly American Eurocopter, LLC) for nine years. In this role, Ed worked closely with city, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies to determine which aircraft would best meet their mission requirements. During his time at AHI, the company delivered over 140 law enforcement aircraft valued at $500 million.

Ed Van Winkle is an active commercial helicopter pilot and flight instructor (CFII), as well as a fixed-wing pilot. Ed's in-depth flight experience and technical knowledge, combined with his strong customer focus, have distinguished him as a leader in the law enforcement aviation community.

Joakim Lundmark

Joakim Lundmark served 18 years in the Swedish Royal Navy as a Technical

Officer and helicopter crew member; rising to the rank of Captain during his time there. In addition to his extensive command, flight and helicopter management experience, Joakim holds an EASA B1/B2 maintenance license with ratings on several aircraft including the Bell 429.

During his time in the Swedish Royal Navy, Joakim worked towards civil engineer certification. He also served in Greenland and Norway, in addition to Sweden.

In 1999, Joakim Lundmark joined the Swedish National Police (SNP). He assumed responsibility for the technical coordination of the police force’s helicopters. Joakim’s first task was to procure a completely new fleet and in 2001 seven brand new EC135P2s were delivered to the SNP. His duties included procurement of this new equipment, negotiating fuel and maintenance contracts, and developing a new quality system that was implemented into the SNP’s Air Support Unit.

In recent years, Joakim Lundmark served as the SNP’s Project Manager for procuring a new fleet of seven Bell 429s. These helicopters are outfitted with an advanced mission suite that supports the latest in air rescue, communications, downlink, and video capabilities. The seven Bell 429s were delivered in 2015 and are now in full operation all over Sweden.

Over his long career, Joakim Lundmark has gained tremendous experience as a fleet manager through his command roles with the Swedish Royal Navy and Swedish National Police. Furthermore, his deep knowledge of EASA regulations now provides CNC and its clients with an expert understanding of the European market. As well, Joakim understands how important high quality post-delivery services are to maintaining a new helicopter system to its fullest potential, and how vital the right level of customer-focused support is to the consistent performance of modern flight technologies.

As CNC’s International Technical Director, Joakim Lundmark now leads the company’s international technical operations. His duties include the design and implementation of comprehensive intelligence solutions, and serving as CNC’s technical support point of contact for the company’s many international customers.
